Parts supply brings the MC174CRM to the end of the line
Maeda has discontinued production and sales of the MC174CRM mini crane, citing difficulty in sourcing components for a model that has been in the range for many years.
What has been announced
The Japanese manufacturer says the length of time that has passed since the MC174C was introduced has made parts procurement increasingly difficult, and that it has therefore decided to end production of the MC174CRM version.
Maeda apologised for any inconvenience and directed customers with questions to the company or to their local dealer. The wider MC174C line also ceased production in August 2025.
What it means for owners
Discontinuation notices of this kind are routine in the mini crane sector, where model runs are long and the supply chain for hydraulic and electronic components turns over faster than the machines do. The practical question for owners is service life rather than availability of new units, and Maeda has not indicated any change to support arrangements for machines already in the field; enquiries are being handled through the dealer network.
The MC174C occupied the smallest end of Maeda’s spider crane range, a 590 mm-wide machine used where nothing larger will pass. Maeda’s current spider crane line-up runs from the MC104C through the MC285C, MC305C and MC405C to the MC815C.
