SANY SCC12500A makes debut lift in Jakarta on 500-tonne base

Three crawlers on one load

The lift was a coordinated operation rather than a single-crane pick. The SCC12500A took the lead role alongside an SCC5000A and an SCC4000A, and the three machines together set a 500-tonne drilling platform base into position. SANY reports that the operators and the site construction team rated the stability, responsiveness and placing accuracy of the machines highly.

Tandem work of this kind puts as much weight on communication and load-sharing discipline as on raw capacity. With a base of that mass, small differences in hook speed between machines translate quickly into unwanted load transfer, which is why crews normally rehearse the sequence before the load leaves the ground.

What the SCC12500A brings

The SCC12500A is rated at 1,250 tonnes and sits at the top of SANY’s crawler range. It is built around a modular design intended to speed up assembly on site, and carries wireless remote control, an automatic load moment indicator, boom limiting devices and a closed-circuit monitoring system.

For a market such as Indonesia, where infrastructure, energy and process plant projects are spread across islands and access is often the binding constraint, assembly time and transportability tend to decide which machine gets specified as much as the load chart does.

Seven days from delivery to first pick

SANY’s service team assembled and commissioned the crane in seven days, and the machine passed third-party inspection at the first attempt. The manufacturer presents that turnaround as an example of its “No More Waiting” service commitment.
