Hiab adds an eleven-site US utility specialist to its loader crane network

Hiab has signed a strategic dealer agreement with Ring Power Utility | Truck | Crane covering HIAB loader cranes and associated services in the United States, adding a distributor with eleven locations to a network the manufacturer has been steadily widening.

A utility and vocational specialist

Ring Power Utility | Truck | Crane was founded in 2008 and has built its business around utility equipment, vocational trucks and cranes, working from eleven US locations. Adding HIAB loader cranes gives it a truck-mounted lifting range to sell alongside the aerial and boom equipment its utility customers already buy.

For Hiab, the appeal is geography and an existing customer base. Loader cranes are rarely bought on specification alone; the deciding factor is usually how quickly a machine can be put back to work when it stops, and Hiab points to more than 700 service points across the country supporting its US installed base.

Both sides frame it as a growth move

“This partnership represents an exciting new chapter. By combining HIAB’s industry-leading products with our strong salesforce, established network, and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, we’re confident in a bright future together.”

– Mike Beauregard, SVP, Director of Utility | Truck | Crane, Ring Power

Hiab’s North American leadership described the agreement as part of a deliberate push into a market where it has repeatedly said its loader crane share trails its European position.

“Hiab is looking for future growth, and an important part of that is to further expand our leading position in the growing North American markets. The cooperation that we now embark on with Ring Power Utility | Truck | Crane will greatly support our ambitions in this.”

– Pauliina Kunvik, SVP Sales & Services, Hiab USA

Coverage, not just volume

Hiab’s US sales team stressed the fit of Ring Power’s territory rather than the size of any initial order.

“The geographical coverage of Ring Power Utility | Truck | Crane is excellent and from Hiab growth point of view very attractive. Both teams Ring Power and Hiab show a 100 percent commitment to the cooperation, and are excited to head towards joint growth together.”

– Bob Cannady, VP Sales, Hiab US

The agreement was announced in December 2024, when Hiab was still part of Cargotec, and was followed through 2025 and 2026 by further US dealer appointments as the company built out its distribution ahead of and after its separate listing.
