Fagioli re-enters Britain through a partnership with heavy lift specialist Notus
Fagioli is back in the United Kingdom heavy lift market, this time through a partnership with Notus, a UK contractor that has grown quickly in the sector and will provide the local presence for jointly executed projects.
A route back into Britain
The Italian heavy lift and integrated logistics contractor announced on 10 September 2025 that it is re-entering the UK market in partnership with Notus, a British heavy lift specialist. The arrangement pairs Fagioli’s engineering and equipment resources with a company that already holds the operating base, client relationships and site knowledge in the UK.
What each side brings
Fagioli, which has been executing heavy lift and transport projects internationally for around seventy years, describes the logic of the deal in terms of matching engineering cultures: Notus, it says, has built its growth on engineering capability and customer service rather than on scale alone.
For customers, the practical effect should be access to Fagioli’s strand jack, gantry, jacking and modular transport systems, and to its in-house engineering department, through a UK-based contracting party. Both companies say the combination is aimed at safer and more cost-efficient heavy lift solutions, and at improved operating efficiency on projects where mobilisation costs from mainland Europe would otherwise weigh heavily.
Fagioli has form in Britain: the company has executed projects in the UK in the past and the announcement is framed as a re-entry rather than a first arrival. What is new is the delivery model. Instead of running a UK subsidiary with its own depot and standing fleet, the work will be routed through Notus, with Fagioli equipment and engineers mobilised against specific contracts.
Projects to follow
Neither company has named specific contracts, but both refer to a pipeline of current and future projects that they intend to showcase, with safety, engineering innovation and customer value set out as the shared priorities.
Neither side has disclosed commercial terms, the duration of the arrangement or whether any Fagioli equipment will be based permanently in the UK.
The UK has been a competitive market for heavy lift contractors, with a number of established domestic players and several European groups operating through subsidiaries. A partnership model rather than a wholly owned branch gives Fagioli a lower-risk way back in, while giving Notus reach into a global equipment fleet it would take years to build independently.
