Böcker hands over first 26-tonne-class AK 48 crane in Austria

The machine changed hands at the end of July. HBV Arbeitsbühnen Vermietung, a partner in the SYSTEM LIFT rental network, is adding the AK 48 to its fleet to cover lifting work with loads of up to 6 tonnes as well as platform duties for assembly and repair jobs at working heights of up to 45.7 metres.

Crane and access platform in one

Böcker’s aluminium-boom truck cranes are designed to switch between hook work and personnel-basket operation, and it is precisely that dual role that made the AK 48 attractive to the Austrian rental house. According to the manufacturer, the combination of reach, payload and flexibility across widely varying sites keeps utilisation high and shortens the return on investment — a key argument in the rental business. Böcker says the handover reflects growing demand in Austria for powerful yet economical height-access solutions.

Specified for rental duty

The crane’s specification was put together with safe, versatile rental deployment in mind. An extensive LED lighting package — beacons, surround lighting plus work and reversing lamps — improves visibility on site during early-morning and late-evening shifts. The machine is also connected to the Böcker Connect digital portal, giving the owner online fleet-management, remote-monitoring and service functions so that deployment hours can be managed and tracked efficiently.

A broad accessory package rounds off the delivery, including the PK 350-D rotating personnel basket, a roof-tile clamp, a tipping skip and pallet forks, allowing the crane to be matched to a wide range of transport and installation tasks by rental customers.

New dealer for central Austria

Alongside the delivery, Böcker is expanding its sales structure in the country. SKY GO Hebebühnen GmbH, based in Göming near Salzburg, has taken over as the new sales partner responsible for customers in central Austria. With the added regional presence, Böcker aims to strengthen consultation, sales and service close to its Austrian customer base.
