Black SK2400-R eLift crawler tower crane handed over to Rothmund
German crane rental company Rothmund GmbH Kranverleih has taken delivery of a Spierings SK2400-R eLift, the Dutch manufacturer’s crawler-mounted mobile tower crane, finished in the Pforzheim firm’s distinctive black and gold livery.
Crawler-mounted tower crane
The SK2400-R is the only tracked machine in the Spierings range and is billed by the Oss-based manufacturer as the most powerful mobile tower crane it has built. With the standard 42 m jib the crane handles a maximum of 18 tonnes at up to 14.8 m radius in four-fall configuration, with 5.5 tonnes still available at the jib tip. Switching between two-fall reeving, good for 9 tonnes, and the full 18-tonne four-fall set-up takes less than a minute, and the telescopic jib can be extended to an optional 50 m. Height under the jib is 37.7 m, and with the jib luffed to 30 degrees the maximum lifting height reaches 56 m on the 42 m jib.
Two trailers, no assist crane
Transport between jobs takes just two trailers: one for the 55-tonne crane itself and one for the counterweight and crawler tracks. The crane lifts its own counterweight and track units into place, so no assist crane is needed, and Spierings quotes around 60 minutes from arrival to first lift. Once erected, the SK2400-R can travel across the site, while the eLift system lets it work emission-free.
Rental fleet in Baden-Württemberg
Rothmund, based in Pforzheim in south-west Germany, offers crane rental and assembly work with mobile cranes up to 450 tonnes alongside heavy transport, loader and crawler cranes, and machine relocation services. Its crew collected the keys to the black machine standing on its new crane’s crawler tracks.
