Tadano V320RC brings 35-tonne capacity to the electric pick & carry class
Tadano has unveiled the V320RC, a 35-tonne battery-electric pick and carry crane developed with first customer NMG Italia. Standing just 2.4 metres tall, the machine made its working debut rigging the Marmomac marble fair in Verona.
Developed with first customer NMG Italia
The V320RC was developed in direct collaboration with NMG Italia, the machine’s first customer, which fed its field experience and the requirements of industrial lifting clients into the design. The crane has already been put to work, handling set-up and dismantling duties at Marmomac in Verona, Italy’s premier trade fair for the marble industry. According to NMG Italia, the debut exceeded expectations on precision, autonomy, quiet running and manoeuvrability.
Compactness is the headline figure. The V320RC measures 5,000 mm long by 2,150 mm wide and stands just 2,400 mm tall, yet offers a maximum capacity of 35 tonnes — bringing that class of lifting power into tight industrial spaces where high-capacity machines normally cannot operate. Gross weight is 31,150 kg, of which 9,500 kg is removable counterweight to ease transport. Power comes from a 120 V, 1,120 Ah battery system, with a lithium-ion option, and the crane can be specified either with radio remote control or with a cab.
A first for the pick & carry sector
Tadano says the V320RC is the first pick & carry crane to combine a variable displacement pump with a high-end electro-hydraulic control valve. Together with new control software, the arrangement is claimed to sharpen precision and responsiveness while cutting energy draw from the battery. During operation on site, NMG Italia recorded a 50 per cent productivity gain over competing cranes under equivalent loads, with enough battery autonomy to run for several days between charges.
The telescopic boom is fully hydraulic, dispensing with wire ropes and chains and thereby reducing maintenance. A patented Ground Pressure Selection System (GPSS) monitors wheel loads on the ground in real time and warns the operator if pressure exceeds preset limits — a critical safeguard in factories and other environments where floor loading governs what a crane may do.
Attachment recognition and load charts on screen
Integrated sensors detect which attachment and counterweights are installed and help the operator select the correct operating mode, while a new 10-inch display shows the corresponding load charts in real time. A full range of attachments is available to suit different industrial lifting tasks.
Tadano positions the V320RC not as an evolution of existing machines but as a new approach for the segment, and says its collaboration with NMG Italia will continue, turning field experience into further technical development for industrial lifting.
