Manitowoc expands Australian support network with new Queensland and Victoria branches
Manitowoc has opened two factory-direct customer support facilities in Australia, at Yatala in Queensland and in Melbourne, Victoria, adding workshop capacity, field service and parts distribution for the country’s growing Grove and Potain crane fleets.
The expansion extends the manufacturer’s service coverage along Australia’s east coast, where demand for Grove mobile cranes and Potain tower cranes is being driven by infrastructure, renewable energy and urban development work. The two new branches complement Manitowoc’s established operation in Sydney, New South Wales, which recently moved into a considerably larger building, and are intended to shorten response times for factory-trained technician support and parts delivery.
Queensland base between Brisbane and the Gold Coast
The Yatala site sits in the industrial corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, giving Manitowoc a strategic base for customers across Queensland, where major infrastructure programmes are expected to continue in the run-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The facility comprises four workshop bays, a dedicated wash bay, a covered outdoor work area and more than 2,200 m² of hardstand, leaving room for the local service operation to grow alongside the state’s expanding Grove and Potain populations.
Permanent footing in Victoria
In Melbourne’s western industrial area, Manitowoc has opened a dedicated three-bay workshop with roughly 1,400 m² of outdoor space. The branch gives the company a permanent base in Victoria and is currently staffed by mobile and tower crane technicians, sales specialists and a spare parts manager. The team will also draw on dedicated crane experts to look after customers in Tasmania.
Local availability, factory expertise
Across both locations the emphasis is on pairing local availability with direct access to the factory. Customers get factory-trained technicians, service and breakdown repair capability, and local technical consultation, with the aim of improving response times and equipment uptime.
“Customers increasingly want a dedicated manufacturing partner with local expertise and direct access to factory support. These investments allow us to put more resources closer to our customers, improving service response, increasing parts availability, and ensuring we continue to deliver the level of support the market expects from Manitowoc.”
