The “old” arch created by the artist Erwin Wiegerling, called E.Lin, had been floating by the banks of the Seeon Lake for seven years now, and even served as a location for holding marriage ceremonies. Now the arch has come to the end of its life, as it had been looking rather ramshackle. E.Lin built a new arch using more durable materials and, in a joint project involving the Culture and Education Centre of the Upper Bavaria Kloster Seeon district and the Chiemgau Counselling Workshops, people with and without disabilities helped to shape the interior and exterior of the arch. Up to the end of the year, it will be sheltering an art exhibition and after that will once again be used as a location for holding marriage ceremonies.
In mid-July, the new arch was lifted into the lake by a Liebherr LTM 1095-5.1 mobile crane operated by the crane company Inntalkran Zaisserer GmbH, and was gently lowered onto the water. This was an unusual deployment for the 5-axle mobile crane with its 58 m long telescopic boom, because usually it is used for installing prefabricated concrete components and steel fabrications as well as in structural engineering and bridge building. The boom can be extended to 84 m using a lattice boom folding jib.
Inntalkran Zaisserer is based in the town of Raubling near Rosenheim and operates Liebherr mobile cranes from 45 t to 100 t load capacity, and also offers heavy load escorts.
