Hoeflon sets out mini crane lifting capacities, 550 kg to 9 tonnes

Hoeflon details what each of its electric spider cranes can lift

Hoeflon has published a model-by-model guide to the lifting capacity of its electric mini cranes, running from the 550 kg C1e to the nine-tonne C30e, together with load-chart examples and the pick-and-carry ratings across the range.

From 550 kilograms to nine tonnes

According to the Dutch manufacturer, mini cranes as a class lift between roughly 500 kg and 9,000 kg depending on type and size — and its own electric range spans almost exactly that spread. The C1e handles 550 kg, is 70 cm wide and weighs just 1,060 kg, small enough to travel in a lift. The C4e lifts 2,350 kg with a 14.6-metre hook height, aimed at facade and glazing work on upper floors. The C6e picks 3,000 kg — more than its own 2,850 kg weight, which Hoeflon highlights as a rarity in craneage. The C10e offers 4,000 kg through an 80 cm passage, while the C30e tops the range at 9,000 kg. The C30eL is the lithium (LiFePO4) variant built for intensive continuous use.

The load chart tells the real story

Hoeflon stresses that the headline figure only applies close to the crane, at short radius and a steep boom angle. Its worked example is the C6e: 3,000 kg at 1.5 metres, 1,350 kg at five metres, 650 kg at nine metres and around 300 kg at the full 13.7-metre radius. What a crane can actually lift on site depends on the radius, the boom angle and whether a fly-jib is fitted — the extension adds reach but cuts the load at the tip.

Outrigger position is the fourth factor. Sensors on the cranes calculate a safe working capacity automatically, even when the outriggers cannot be fully extended in a confined position.

Pick and carry across the range

The article also compares the range’s ability to move loads while driving. The C1e is described as the pick-and-carry specialist for narrow corridors and doorways, carrying up to 550 kg on the move. The C4e, C6e and C10e are designed primarily for static lifting on outriggers, deploying their full capacity once set up. At the top end, the C30e and C30eL use a built-in travel frame to carry as much as 3,000 kg while driving, without outriggers.

Hoeflon’s own selection guidance: the C1e for light installation work, indoor glazing and lift transport; the C4e or C6e for regular facade and steel jobs; and the C10e or C30e for heavy industrial fitting and prefab construction. Exact load charts per model and configuration are available on the company’s product pages.
