Potain Evy 28-21 self-erecting crane to make its debut at Batimat 2026
Manitowoc will unveil the Potain Evy 28-21, a 2.2-tonne capacity self-erecting crane aimed at residential builders, carpenters and roofers, at the Batimat show in Paris from 28 September to 1 October, alongside a growing line-up of customer support products and accessories.
The Evy 28-21 extends Potain’s self-erecting range with a machine built for compact jobsites. It lifts a maximum of 2.2 tonnes and carries 950 kg at the end of its 28 m jib when the built-in P+ function is engaged. The standard horizontal working height is 21 m, and the jib can be raised to 10, 20 or 30 degrees to suit site conditions; at the full 30-degree incline the hook reaches 32.3 m.
One truck to site
Transport has been kept simple, with the crane’s entire counterweight travelling on a single truck. Once on site, Smart Set-Up remote guidance automates erection, while the on-board Crane Control System, Drive Control and Power Control manage movements through transport, rigging and operation. The integrated Potain CONNECT telematics platform adds remote diagnostics and centralised equipment tracking for fleet owners.
The new model is fully compliant with EN 14439:2025, the updated European tower crane safety standard that takes effect in January 2027.

Accessories on the stand
Alongside the new crane, Manitowoc will show a range of customer support products for self-erecting and tower cranes, including the PowerBoost battery supply system for self-erectors, modular anchor ties for tower cranes, crane-mounted camera systems and even a crane operator urinal. The company can be found in Hall H7.2, Stand F086, during the show’s run at the Paris exhibition centre.
