Maeda exhibited at ONEBUILD 2026 in Kuala Lumpur alongside its exclusive Malaysian distributor Sin Loy Heng Engineering, showing the MC815 spider crane in Malaysia for the first time and demonstrating the machine by lifting an MC285C mini crane.

The exhibition ran from 5 to 7 August 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in the KLCC district, next to the Petronas Twin Towers. Maeda shared a stand with Sin Loy Heng Engineering Sdn. Bhd., the Japanese mini crane builder’s exclusive distributor for the Malaysian market, with large brand banners hung through the halls to steer visitors towards the booth.

MC815 lifts an MC285C

The centrepiece of the stand was the MC815, the largest model in Maeda’s spider crane range and a machine that had not been shown in Malaysia before. Rather than parking the crane as a static exhibit, the team rigged a live demonstration in which the tracked MC815 held a complete MC285C spider crane on the hook — a straightforward way to make the size gap between the two models obvious, and one that kept visitors stopping at the booth throughout the three days.

According to Maeda, the MC815 drew the strongest interest and the most questions of anything on the stand, with visitors coming from construction and a range of other industries.

Ministerial visit

During the show, Malaysia’s Minister of Public Works toured the exhibition together with officials from the country’s Department of Occupational Safety and Health. The delegation stopped at the Maeda stand, where the visitors examined the exhibited cranes and questioned the team about the machines.

MC405C already at work on Kuala Lumpur’s skyline

Maeda cranes are no strangers to the Malaysian capital. The company notes that its MC405C spider crane was used for curtain wall installation during construction of The Exchange TRX, the large mixed-use commercial complex in central Kuala Lumpur that opened in November 2023 and now ranks among the city’s premier shopping destinations. The compact crawler-mounted crane handled façade glazing as part of the equipment fleet on the development.

For Maeda and Sin Loy Heng, the show was a chance to consolidate the brand’s position in a market where compact lifting equipment competes for space on dense urban jobsites — and the first public outing for the MC815 suggests the top end of the spider crane range is now part of that pitch.
