BSF Mobile Cranes adds Liebherr LTM 1400-6.1 and first MK 88-4.1E

Stepping up from the LTM 1350-6.1

The LTM 1400-6.1 gives the Australian heavy-lift company a logical step up from the LTM 1350-6.1 it already runs. The six-axle, 450-tonne machine occupies a similar footprint to the 350-tonner but delivers considerably more capacity and reach, which BSF says is exactly what its infrastructure, industrial and large-scale construction customers are asking for.

Alongside the boom configuration options and the single-engine concept, Stoeckert points to rig time as a deciding factor: the reduced setup time for the Y-guying system matters to customers who want the crane in and out quickly. VarioBallast and VarioBase add flexibility on tight inner-city sites where full ballast radius or a symmetrical outrigger spread is not always available.

First MK 88-4.1E in Australia

The second machine breaks new ground for the company. The MK 88-4.1E is the first mobile construction crane of its type in Australia and positions BSF between conventional mobile cranes and stationary tower cranes. The electrically operated taxi crane was chosen for its compact transport dimensions, variable operating modes and quick deployment on space-constrained construction sites.

21 Liebherr cranes in a fleet of 50

The double order extends a long relationship between the Queensland company and the German manufacturer. BSF Mobile Cranes runs a fleet of around 50 cranes, 21 of them Liebherr machines, with 74 employees, and is part of the BSF Group, which operates across the construction value chain. The two new arrivals are earmarked for a broad spread of infrastructure, industrial and construction work across the company’s market segments.
