Centro Oeste takes delivery of Brazil’s first Liebherr LTM 1300-6.4

The LTM 1300-6.4 is not only the first crane of its type in Brazil; it is also the first in the country to run Liebherr’s LICCON3 control system. For Centro Oeste, a lifting and cargo-handling contractor with a fleet of around 110 vehicles, the six-axle machine fills the slot for jobs where reach matters as much as capacity, from maintenance shutdowns and electromechanical installations to infrastructure, energy and port work.

The crane offers a maximum lifting capacity of 300 tonnes and carries a 90-metre telescopic boom, one of the longest in its class. That combination lets it reach hook heights that would normally force a rival crane to rig a lattice jib first.

LICCON3 arrives in Brazil

The new-generation LICCON3 control system brings a redesigned user interface, faster data processing, more storage and expanded safety functions, and is prepared for telematics and fleet-management applications. Liebherr develops key components such as the displays and control units in-house.

A largely Liebherr heavy fleet

The purchase deepens a long-standing relationship between the two companies. Among Centro Oeste’s mobile cranes above 90 tonnes capacity, Liebherr machines already make up roughly 77 per cent of the fleet, which also includes loader cranes, forklifts and other handling equipment.
