It made a nice change for Swiss construction contractor Hartmann and its Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 mobile crane. At the end of November, the 60-tonne crane erected a 12-metre Christmas tree in front of the Badrutt’s Palace luxury hotel in St. Moritz. The three tonne fir tree with Christmas decorations creates a festive highlight in the entrance of the 5 star hotel.
For the rest of the year, Nicol. Hartmann & Cie. based in St. Moritz specialises in construction and civil engineering. The LTM 1060-3.1 is mainly used for assembling tower cranes. Markus Testa, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Hartmann, explains: “The manoeuvrability of the crane is a great bonus. The LTM 1060-3.1 manoeuvres beautifully even in the constricted mountainous area of the Upper Engadine.” Thanks to its compact dimensions, for example, its turning circle is just 7.58 metres and its ballast radius remains within 3.54 metres.
“We decided on Liebherr as a result of the company’s high quality and technical superiority. Reliable service was another major factor in our purchasing decision”, says Testa.
Hartmann has been a construction contractor since 1875. In addition to concrete and masonry construction, Hartmann specialises in civil engineering and slope stabilisation work.
