Davis Crane Group takes delivery of its first Tadano AC 7.450-1 for West Texas work
Texas lifting contractor Davis Crane Group has bought its first Tadano AC 7.450-1. The seven-axle all terrain crane joins the Goins Crane Service division in Abilene and starts its working life on a data centre project in West Texas.
Davis Crane Group has served contractors across Texas for more than 60 years and operates divisions throughout the state. The new AC 7.450-1 will be based at the company’s Goins Crane Service office in Abilene, from where it will first be deployed on data centre construction in West Texas. The company also sees the crane working on wind turbine, bridge and other infrastructure jobs.
Compact carrier, 80-metre boom
The AC 7.450-1 carries a 262.5 ft (80 m) main boom on a carrier just 55.9 ft (17 m) long, with a maximum outrigger base of 27.8 ft (8.5 m). The crane comes with Tadano’s IC-1 control system, the Sideways Superlift (SSL) boom-suspension system and Surround View, and lifts strongly both with and without SSL fitted. Tadano positions the model for high-reach assembly work, tower crane erection and heavy industrial lifts.
