Doggett takes on Link-Belt crane sales in southeast Texas

From Louisiana into Texas

Doggett has represented Link-Belt Cranes in Louisiana since mid-2016, and the manufacturer has now added southeast Texas to that territory, with the greater Houston metropolitan area as the primary focus. Link-Belt framed the move as recognition of how the Louisiana operation has developed rather than as a reshuffle, pointing to the dealer’s record on customer support, product knowledge and aftermarket service.

Houston is one of the densest crane markets in North America. Petrochemical turnarounds, port work, energy projects and sustained infrastructure and commercial construction all keep large fleets of rough terrain, truck and crawler cranes in circulation, and they generate the sort of unplanned service and parts demand that decides which dealer a contractor calls.

Full line, plus aftermarket

Under the expanded appointment Doggett will carry the complete Link-Belt range: rough terrain cranes, hydraulic truck cranes, all terrain cranes, and both lattice and telescopic crawler cranes. That is the whole product portfolio rather than a subset, which matters to fleet owners who prefer to consolidate purchasing and support behind a single dealer relationship.

The appointment also covers aftermarket work, including parts availability, maintenance, inspections and field service support. For crane owners, that second half of the arrangement usually carries more weight than the sales side. A crane down in a Houston refinery during a turnaround is an expensive machine, and the ability to get parts and a field service technician on site quickly is a large part of what a distribution territory is actually worth.
