Spierings hands South Korean sales, service and parts to D&T Machinery
Spierings Mobile Cranes has appointed D&T Machinery as its official dealer in South Korea, the largest market for mobile tower cranes outside Europe, with the emphasis of the agreement falling on building local service and parts capability.
A market built up over a decade
The first Spierings mobile tower cranes were imported into South Korea in 2013, and the concept has since gained ground steadily among Korean contractors working on dense urban sites. The country now represents the manufacturer’s largest mobile tower crane market outside Europe, which makes the dealer appointment a significant piece of structure rather than a routine territory filling exercise.
Under the agreement, D&T Machinery takes responsibility for sales, after-sales service and spare parts support across South Korea. Both parties have identified local service infrastructure as the priority, with the aim of giving Korean owners fast technical support and parts availability rather than relying on European back-up.
An established crane distributor
D&T Machinery brings a long track record with European crane manufacturers. The company previously acted as dealer for Demag cranes, before that brand was acquired by Tadano, and continues to represent Terex rough terrain cranes. It is also active in trading good-quality second-hand Japanese and German machines.

Service first
The co-owner of the business put the emphasis on uptime rather than sales volume.

Jeroen Kerkhoff, who handles sales for Scandinavia, Belgium and Asia at Spierings, said South Korea was an important market with strong growth potential, and that rising demand for efficient lifting on compact construction sites suited the mobile tower crane concept. He added that D&T Machinery’s experience with European manufacturers and its focus on service made it the right partner.
