Imetame buys four Liebherr mobile cranes for Brazilian pulp project

Four cranes, four jobs

The package comprises an LTM 1090-4.2, an LTM 1120-4.1, an LTM 1230-5.1 and an LTM 1250-5.1 – a deliberate spread rather than four of a kind. The LTM 1090-4.2 covers the broad middle of the workload with high mobility and quick turnaround. The LTM 1120-4.1, the most powerful mobile crane in the four-axle class, brings an exceptionally long telescopic boom and correspondingly lower transport costs.

At the top of the package sits the LTM 1250-5.1, the world’s most powerful five-axle mobile crane, designed to extract maximum lifting capacity within the given axle loads. The LTM 1230-5.1 completes the set with a particularly long telescopic boom and optional lattice extensions for work at height and in steep configurations.

Pulp and paper in Mato Grosso do Sul

The cranes will be concentrated on a large-scale pulp and paper project in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Their tasks there are heavy lifting operations, the assembly of complex plant structures and the installation of extensive pipeline systems – the sort of programme where the ability to move a crane between positions quickly counts as much as raw capacity.

All-terrain and VarioBase

All four are all-terrain machines, road-legal and able to work in difficult site conditions. Telescopic booms get them to working height quickly, while lattice extensions, folding jibs and fixed lattice jibs allow the configuration to be matched to each lift. VarioBase and VarioBallast give additional flexibility where space is restricted and load cases vary – both relevant on a congested industrial site.
