Battery power on a two-axle chassis: Jekko launches the 8-tonne TRX80
Jekko has added the TRX80 to its truck-mounted mini crane family, an 8-tonne machine on a two-axle chassis that reaches 27.2 metres with the jib fitted and runs its crane functions entirely on a 48V lithium battery.
Packaged inside the vehicle footprint
The TRX80 is built around keeping the crane within the outline of the truck it sits on. The crane module weighs under 8 tonnes, which combined with the compact two-axle carrier allows the machine onto lightweight surfaces and into areas where access is restricted. Jekko positions it for fast lifting cycles: steel and timber structure installation, HVAC unit placement and general construction and industrial lifts.
Reach, capacity and stability
Maximum capacity is 8 tonnes. The main boom reaches 20 metres, extending to 27.2 metres with the jib, and the maximum working radius is 24.3 metres. Three lifting configurations are available — main boom alone, a 3,500 kg runner jib, or a 1,500 kg hydraulic jib — and Jekko says all of them can be fitted without external equipment. The jib works down to a negative angle of -60°, useful where the load has to be taken below the setup level.
Stability comes from hydraulic outriggers with stepless extension and rotation, giving a continuous range of setup positions within a maximum footprint of 4.6 x 4.6 metres. Each outrigger carries a pressure sensor for continuous ground load monitoring, which matters on slabs, decks and paved areas of uncertain capacity.
Electric crane operation
Crane functions run fully electrically from a 48V lithium battery that Jekko rates for a full working day. The pack recharges either from the vehicle’s power take-off or from an external single-phase or three-phase supply.
Control and safety
A full load moment indicator adjusts permitted performance to the actual stability condition and feeds the operator visual warnings in real time. Operation is via proportional radio remote control and a 7-inch on-board touchscreen that displays the load chart and stability area, recalculating both as the crane moves. Interactive assistance, self-diagnosis and troubleshooting functions are built into the same system.
The TRX80 was scheduled to make its world market debut at Smopyc in Zaragoza, on the stand of Spanish dealer Transgruas (AES23), from 15 to 18 April 2026.
