Ehingen / Donau (Germany) May 2017 – Knoll GmbH & Co.KG took delivery of an LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane at the Liebherr Plant in Ehingen at the end of March. The 5-axle 250-tonne mobile crane will replace a five-year-old LTM 1220-5.2. The new crane will extend Knoll’s range of services upwards.
The LTM 1250-5.1 is now the most powerful crane in the Knoll fleet. “We always buy the most powerful 5-axle crane on the market”, says company boss Hans-Peter Knoll and adds: “The new crane will replace an LTM 1220-5.2 which is only five years old. We would have kept this crane because we have plenty of work and normally we keep our cranes for longer. But the problem we have at the moment is finding good crane drivers.”
Hans-Peter Knoll ordered the LTM 1250-5.1 with the hydraulically adjustable 50-metre latticed jib, VarioBase® and 2 winches. He says, “We decided on the LTM 1250-5.1 because of its modern technology and good value for money.” Knoll plans to use the 250-tonne crane for various jobs including concrete module assembly with part weights of around 30 tonnes.
The Knoll crane company has a workforce of around 40 and operates 28 cranes, 21 of which are from Liebherr. The company mainly specialises in crane rental. Marlene Knoll explains: “Our long term satisfaction and the very good support we receive from the reliable customer service department were major criteria behind the decision to buy another Liebherr crane.”
