Küpers modernises fleet for the oil industry with Liebherr mobile crane

Ehingen / Donau (Germany) September 2017 – J+B Küpers GmbH took delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1130-5.1 mobile crane in September. The company is based in Osterwald in Lower Saxony and provides services to the oil and gas industry. The modern Liebherr 5-axle crane meets the high requirements of this industry in terms of quality and safety.

The new Liebherr LTM 1130-5.1 will replace a crane of the same lifting capacity class, thus modernising the company’s fleet. Joachim Küpers explains: “The customers in these industries have high quality demands and strict requirements relating to the safety of the equipment we use. We therefore attach great value to a fleet which is up to date technically. The new LTM 1130-5.1 with its VarioBase® variable support base and working area limitation satisfies these requirements in full.”

J+B Küpers was founded 53 years ago and has established itself in the transport and crane work, civil engineering, demolition, industrial cleaning and environmental service sectors. “We have made a reputation for ourselves as a service provider for oil and gas companies”, says Managing Director Joachim Küpers. “Our mobile cranes are used, for example, for loading work and for erecting and dismantling systems. The heavy pumps used in this industry can weigh up to 30 tonnes.”

Overall, Küpers operates twelve mobile cranes with lifting capacities of up to 220 tonnes. They also include a Liebherr LTR 1060 telescopic crawler crane which delivers outstanding all-terrain manoeuvrability. Küpers also has a wide range of other construction machines for its other business sectors. The family-run company has a workforce of over 200 and is active both throughout Germany and beyond its borders.
