Salt Lake City’s Mountain Crane picks up Lennon Crane — and the Tadano dealership for Washington and Oregon
Mountain Crane Service has acquired Lennon Crane and Equipment Company, adding Washington and Oregon to its territory along with Tadano distribution rights for the GR, GT, GTC and AC lines in the Pacific Northwest.
The deal
Mountain Crane Service, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, has acquired Lennon Crane and Equipment Company, extending its position in the North American crane rental and sales market. The transaction carries with it Tadano distributorship responsibilities in Washington and Oregon.
Scott Lennon will continue with the business, which keeps its existing commercial model. Both companies were explicit that Lennon Crane’s core offer in the Pacific Northwest stays as it is — late-model bare rentals, sales of new and used equipment, and service — with no plan to add operated or taxi crane services in the region.

Stock ordered up front
Distributor transitions tend to leave holes in machine and parts availability while the new owner rebuilds inventory. Mountain has moved to avoid that by placing what it describes as a significant Tadano stock order ahead of the changeover, covering equipment, parts and service supply.
The Tadano lines involved span most of what a Pacific Northwest rental fleet would want from the brand: GR rough terrain cranes, GT truck cranes, GTC telescopic boom crawlers and AC all-terrain cranes.

Financial terms were not disclosed. For crane users in Washington and Oregon the immediate effect is continuity of brand and product support under a larger owner; the wider effect is one fewer independent Tadano dealer in the western United States, with Mountain now covering a corridor running from Utah to the Pacific coast.
