Five new Terex flat tops head to Hamburg as Proschwitz renews its tower crane fleet
German tower crane specialist Proschwitz has taken delivery of five new Terex flat top tower cranes, a fleet investment the Hamburg-based company says will let it take on more demanding construction work.
Five flat tops for a long-standing customer
Terex Tower Cranes has confirmed that Proschwitz, a Hamburg-based crane company and a customer of the Italian-built Terex range for many years, has bought five new flat top tower cranes. The order was announced on 11 April 2025 and covers machines from the manufacturer’s CTT flat top family, the line that accounts for the bulk of Terex tower crane sales in European city-centre work.
For a rental and contract lifting business, a five-unit order is a meaningful slice of fleet renewal rather than a one-off replacement. Terex said the purchase reflects Proschwitz’s intention to widen the range of projects it can serve, with the newer machines expected to cover more complex sites than the units they join.
Electronics aimed at set-up time
All five cranes are specified with the manufacturer’s current control electronics package. Terex highlights three practical benefits: closer control of crane movements, live operating data available to the crew, and a simplified erection procedure that cuts the time a crane ties up a site and a mobile crane during installation. Erection time is a recurring cost driver for tower crane fleets, where a machine earns nothing while it is being rigged, and it is one of the areas Terex has concentrated on across recent CTT models.
“We are proud to support Proschwitz in their continued growth and success. This milestone marks another chapter in our enduring partnership with Proschwitz, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration and mutual success.”
— Nicola Castenetto, Sales Leader for Germany, Terex Tower Cranes
The customer’s view
Proschwitz framed the purchase as a continuation of a working relationship in which the operator’s requirements feed back into how the cranes are specified.
“We are proud to strengthen our fleet with additional top level cranes from Terex, which have been designed in close cooperation according to the needs of our customers. High performance and reliability is the key factor for our success on the job site.”
— Detlev Proschwitz, Proschwitz
