Riedelsheimer swaps its LTM 1055-3.2 for Liebherr’s latest three-axle crane
Marcus Riedelsheimer Autokran Dienste has taken delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1055-3.3 at the Ehingen factory. The 55-tonne three-axle machine replaces the company’s previous-generation LTM 1055-3.2 and will work mainly as a taxi crane placing precast concrete elements.
For the Bavarian group, the decisive arguments for the new model were the LICCON3 crane control system and the crane’s low axle loads. Depending on configuration, the LTM 1055-3.3 travels with axle loads under 9 tonnes and a gross vehicle weight below 26 tonnes, which Liebherr says makes it the lightest three-axle all-terrain crane on the market. Those figures allow nationwide permanent road permits in Germany and keep the crane flexible for short-notice jobs.

Taxi crane for precast work
The new crane rounds off the fleet at the lower end of the capacity range. Its main task will be installing lighter precast concrete elements — the group runs its own precast plant — alongside prefabricated house assembly and general day-to-day taxi crane work. Despite its low weight, the long telescopic boom gives the 55-tonner useful capacities at medium and long radii.
All-Liebherr fleet close to the factory
Riedelsheimer started in 1995 as a small construction equipment hire business and today employs around 65 people across activities ranging from turnkey construction to mobile crane services. The crane fleet is exclusively Liebherr, a choice the owner links to consistent controls across models — operators can switch machines without retraining — and to the short distance to the Ehingen plant, where the after-sales service can deal with faults or breakdowns at short notice.
