Oman takes the first SANY SAC8000T all-terrain crane in the Middle East
SANY has delivered an 800-tonne SAC8000T all-terrain crane to a customer in Sohar, Oman — the first machine of that capacity from the manufacturer to enter service in the Middle East.
First of its class in the region
The handover took place on 18 November in Sohar, on Oman’s northern coast. The SAC8000T is rated at 800 tonnes and is the first all-terrain crane of that size SANY has placed with a Middle Eastern customer.
Sohar is built around a deep-water port and an adjoining industrial and free zone with petrochemical, metals and logistics operations, the kind of environment where 800-tonne class machines earn their keep on vessel and column installation, plant maintenance shutdowns and heavy structural work.
SANY has released no further detail on the customer or on the crane’s first assignment.
