Essex rental firm signs for the CKE3000G at Bauma, adding a 350-tonne super heavy lift option
UK crane rental company SECH has completed the purchase of the first Kobelco CKE3000G to be sold in Europe, a 300-tonne capacity lattice crawler that can be configured to lift 350 tonnes in super heavy lift mode.

SECH, which hires out telescopic and lattice boom crawler cranes across the UK from its base at Hockley in Essex, finalised the deal at a ceremony during Bauma in Munich (8–14 April 2019). The company has been running a Kobelco CKE1100G in its rental fleet for close to two years.
Managing director Matt Cox says the choice came down to design and operational simplicity, together with the manufacturer’s record on reliability. One capability in particular stood out.

Three lifting modes
The CKE3000G offers a standard mode rated at 300 tonnes at 5.5m radius, a heavy lift mode at 189.8 tonnes at 8.8m, and a super heavy lift mode reaching 350 tonnes at 8m. In SHL configuration Kobelco positions the machine as a competitor in the 400-tonne class.
Against the 250-tonne CKE2500G-2 it sits above, the newer crane lifts 40% more in standard specification and 60% more when working with a luffing jib. Attachment options run from a fixed jib and heavy fixed jib to the luffer, which is also available in the super heavy lift set-up.
SECH’s machine will arrive with a standard main boom, with a 60m luffing fly jib and a 30m back mast and tray available to unlock the heavy lift and super heavy lift configurations later.
Transport and driveline
All components measure less than 3m wide, which keeps road movements straightforward. Power comes from a 13-litre Scania engine rated at 331kW that meets Stage IV/Tier 4 Final emissions limits without a particulate filter.
The model was launched in December 2017, with the first two units delivered in March 2018 to Indonesian contractor Guna Teguh Abadi (GTA) Construction.
