MK3053C takes centre stage in Yunlin as Maeda’s Taiwanese distributor fills its stand with mini cranes
Maeda’s Taiwanese distributor showed six mini cranes at the 19th Taiwan International Agricultural Machinery and Materials Exhibition in Yunlin, with the recently launched MK3053C knuckle boom crane given the prime position and a live operating demonstration.
A large regional show
The three-day exhibition ran from 25 to 27 October at Yunlin in western Taiwan. More than 200 domestic and international exhibitors took part, occupying over 700 booths. President Lai Ching-te gave the congratulatory address at the opening ceremony, speaking about expanding digital technology and technical exchange within the agricultural machinery industry.
Agricultural shows are not an obvious venue for lifting equipment, but in Taiwan they draw the contractors, orchard and greenhouse operators and rural construction firms who make up a large part of the mini crane user base.
Stand line-up
Taiwan Honest Sky Co., Ltd, Maeda’s distributor in the market, displayed six Maeda machines within a restricted booth footprint: the MK3053C knuckle boom crane, the MC305C-5 and MC405C-5 spider cranes, the CC985S3-1 mini crawler crane, and two battery-powered models, the MC285CE-3 and the MC305CB-3.
The mix is worth noting. Two of the six machines are electric variants, which reflects how quickly battery spider cranes have moved from novelty to standard stock item for indoor and emissions-sensitive work in Asian markets.
MK3053C demonstration
The MK3053C, launched in Taiwan in the summer of 2025, was placed prominently on the stand to catch visitors as they arrived. Maeda ran an operating demonstration of the machine during the show and reported that the audience built steadily as each presentation went on.
Alongside its own machines the distributor also showed four units from other manufacturers, including aerial work platforms and forwarders, and ran test rides and giveaways. Scale models of the MC815, an MC174C plastic model kit and branded die-cast cars were offered as show-only merchandise.
Maeda reported strong visitor numbers across all three days and said it intends to return; the exhibition is held annually.
The Yunlin appearance came three months after the MK3053C was introduced to Taiwan and shortly before the same model reached the Japanese domestic market, making the show the first large public outing for the crane in the country. Maeda’s distributor also has an MK3053C working on the curtain wall installation at Terminal 3 of Taoyuan International Airport, a job the manufacturer visited immediately after the exhibition closed.
