“There’s Nothing More on 4”: Würzburger Kranverleih Boosts Its Fleet with the Liebherr LTM 1120-4.2
Family-run Würzburger Kranverleih und Bergungsdienst GmbH has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1120-4.2 — a 120-tonne crane that squeezes 5-axle performance onto a compact 4-axle carrier.
Big lifts, small footprint
With its 66-metre telescopic boom, the LTM 1120-4.2 competes head-on with 5-axle machines while staying manoeuvrable enough for cramped inner-city sites. That was exactly the gap in the fleet, says company owner Ibrahim Haido: the crane will mainly erect tower cranes, handle steel and concrete work and install transformer stations — loads that keep getting heavier while job sites keep getting tighter.
Third LICCON3 crane in two years
The Lower Franconian company is on a modernisation drive. After the LTM 1100-5.3 and LTM 1110-5.2, the new 120-tonner is already its third crane running Liebherr’s latest LICCON3 control system, and operators praise the modern remote control functions. The company runs eleven mobile cranes — most of them Liebherr — with 25 employees across several branches.
“Our fleet needed a powerful 4-axle crane. The LTM 1120-4.2 offers enormous lifting capacities and is ideal for use on confined construction sites, where 5-axle mobile cranes reach their limits.”
— Ibrahim Haido, owner, Würzburger Kranverleih
The most powerful 4-axler around
Launched in 2020 as the LTM 1120-4.1 under the slogan “There’s nothing more on 4!”, the model redefined what a 4-axle all-terrain crane can do. The updated 4.2 version adds the LICCON3 system, the oil-cooled TraXon DynamicPerform start-up clutch, blind-spot and manoeuvring assistants, and comes RemoteDrive-ready as standard.
