Oklahoma contractor WW Builders picks up its first knuckle boom: a Tadano PM 38525 SP with jib

Construction firm WW Builders Inc. of Duncan, Oklahoma has bought its first knuckle boom crane, a Tadano PM 38525 SP with J813.20 jib on a Mack chassis, supplied through distributor BTE Body Company.

WW Builders has worked in general building, earthworks, concrete, plumbing and roofing for more than 30 years, but until now had never run a loader crane of its own. The 38.5 tonne-metre PM 38525 SP, paired with the J813.20 jib, was specified with BTE Body Company to lift loads at distance and shift materials on and off jobsites across the region.

First job: an Air Force base in Arkansas

The crane goes straight to work handling materials on an Air Force base project in Arkansas, the first of what the contractor expects to be a broad range of building applications for the new machine.

Gold line loader with up to eight extensions

The PM 38.5 SP series sits in the Gold line of Tadano’s PM knuckle boom range, built around a rack-and-pinion slewing system and aimed at combining high lifting capacity with compact dimensions and comparatively low deadweight for its class. The main boom is available with up to eight hydraulic extensions, while jib versions add up to five more extensions and work at negative angles down to 20 degrees, stretching both horizontal outreach and vertical working range.
