Zoomlion has completed acceptance and handover of a 600-tonne class ZAT6000V863 all terrain crane in Rio de Janeiro, the second ultra-large crane the Brazilian lifting contractor has bought from the Chinese manufacturer within about six months.

Second big all terrain for the same customer

The ZAT6000V863 was formally accepted and delivered in Rio de Janeiro after completing its performance verification programme. According to Zoomlion, cranes of this size are scarce in the Brazilian market, and the handover strengthens the manufacturer’s position at the heavy end of the Latin American crane sector.

The buyer is a large Brazilian lifting company that already runs dozens of Zoomlion machines. In December last year the same customer took delivery of a ZAT7000V863, at the time the largest all terrain crane in south-eastern Brazil, which has since worked on bridge construction and port jobs. Around six months later the company ordered the 600-tonner now handed over.

45 days of commissioning and testing

Before the acceptance was signed off, Zoomlion’s service team ran the crane through commissioning and performance checks covering all of its operating modes, a programme the manufacturer says took 45 days of intensive testing. All performance figures met or exceeded the applicable industry standards, after which the customer accepted the machine.

More than 4,000 machines in Brazil

Zoomlion has been active in Brazil for over a decade and has delivered more than 4,000 pieces of construction equipment in the country. The manufacturer currently operates 18 service outlets and three central parts warehouses across Brazil, covering sales, maintenance, training and logistics. Alongside its concrete machinery business, Zoomlion says its share of the Brazilian market for construction cranes and access platforms is growing.
