ZRT1500V6 handed over at CONEXPO with a 198.5-foot six-section boom and self-rigging counterweight
Zoomlion delivered a ZRT1500V6 rough terrain crane to a customer during CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 in Las Vegas, the largest Chinese-built rough terrain machine exported to the Americas to date.
Built around reach
The ZRT1500V6 was developed specifically for North American duty cycles, where long-reach work and high utilisation are the norm. Its main boom is a six-section large-profile oval design measuring 198.5 feet, and Zoomlion quotes a capacity of 2,600 lb at full main boom extension — the figure that matters for the pipeline, bridge, warehousing and logistics work the crane is aimed at.
Rough terrain cranes in Zoomlion’s range run from 40 to 130 tonnes and are used in general construction, oilfield work, mining and logistics. The company says its rough terrain models built for export now hold ANSI, CE and EAC certification and have sold in North America, the Middle East and the Russian-speaking markets.
Moving it between sites
The transport package has had as much attention as the boom. The crane carries a 41,900 lb counterweight that can be self-installed and removed without an assist crane, which removes a significant cost and scheduling constraint from short-notice relocations.
Overall transport weight is held within 108,000 lb, keeping haulage costs and permit complications down. Power comes through a high-efficiency hydraulic system, and the machine carries intelligent safety systems for operational protection. The cab has been reworked with 10 per cent more interior space and an ergonomic layout intended for long shifts.
Taken together, the specification points at a machine designed to be moved often. On North American pipeline and bridge work, a rough terrain crane may relocate several times in a week, and the cost of an assist crane for counterweight rigging, plus permit weight limits, tends to dictate what contractors will actually buy at this size.
CONEXPO as a delivery point
Zoomlion used the Las Vegas show as the setting for deliveries and contract signings across its product range, with the ZRT1500V6 handover the headline item on the lifting side. Taking delivery on a show stand is partly theatre, but it does put the machine in front of the North American rental and contracting audience at the point when purchasing decisions for the season are being made.
The company says it will continue to develop products for global markets with an emphasis on high-end, intelligent and lower-emission machinery.
