Manitowoc brings three Grove all-terrain cranes to JDL EXPO 2026

The French lifting event, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, has become one of Europe’s leading gatherings for the crane sector. Manitowoc will occupy Stand D50 at the Palais des Congrès, where two of the exhibited cranes will appear in customer livery: the GMK5150XL and GMK4100L-2 in the colours of the FOSELEV Group, and the GMK3060L-1 belonging to Groupe Cayon.

Long booms across three axle classes

Heading the display is the five-axle GMK5150XL, whose 68.7 m main boom is the longest fitted to a 150-tonne mobile crane on a five-axle chassis. The extra reach lets operators complete many lifts at height without rigging a jib, saving set-up time and space on site.

The 100-tonne, four-axle GMK4100L-2 combines long reach with compact dimensions. With jib extensions the crane reaches almost 89 m, while its 2.55 m width helps it slip into tight working areas. The three-axle, 60-tonne GMK3060L-1 completes the trio, pairing an 8.67 m carrier with a 48 m seven-section MEGAFORM boom. Load charts that start at a 0° boom angle mean the crane can work indoors as well as out.

Aftermarket takes centre stage

Beyond the hardware, Manitowoc is using the show to underline its shift towards full-lifecycle support. Grove’s aftermarket display includes the BCS camera system, which improves all-round visibility for operators of mobile and mobile tower cranes, an updated wire rope cleaner, plus a boom lubrication package and long-reach spray lance for servicing hard-to-reach areas. The company opened new French service facilities in Bouaye and Meru last year and continues to expand its technician team.

Potain’s accessory line-up features the PP200 external battery for lower running costs, anti-intrusion kits to secure jobsites, drop-prevention tools from GRIPPS and outrigger pads for self-erecting cranes. The tower crane brand will also give visitors a first look at details of its future portfolio complying with the new EN 14439:2025 standard, and will draw on its experience in nuclear plant construction.
