SANY rough terrains enter service in Belgium for the first time
SANY’s rough terrain cranes have started work in Belgium, the first machines of the type from the Chinese manufacturer to enter service in the country.
A first for the Belgian market
SANY has confirmed that the first of its rough terrain cranes are now operating in Belgium. The manufacturer describes the machines as built for rough ground and for supporting local industry, but has not published model designations, capacities or the name of the owner.
Rough terrain cranes remain a comparatively small segment in western Europe, where taxi-crane work is dominated by road-going all-terrains. They are specified mostly for sites where a machine stays put for weeks at a time — petrochemical plants, refineries, yards and long-running civil works — and where compact dimensions and four-wheel steer matter more than road travel. Any entry into that market is therefore a targeted one rather than a volume play.
