FibreMax is producing lightweight synthetic crane pendants with a length of over 55 meter; the pendants will have a breaking strength of 680 tonnes. The weight, including end terminations is only 395kg. The pendants will be used on a luffing-jib tower crane.
Part of the order are also lightweight synthetic crane pendants with a length of 63 meter and a breaking strength of 390 tonnes; their weight: only 250kg. The pendants are made of aramid fibre (Twaron) and will be delivered to the customer this month.
FibreMax cables
All FibreMax cables are produced with endless winding technology which is a totally automated process of continuous winding of parallel strands of fibres around two end fittings until the right cable strength or required cable stretch has been reached. Although the crane industry is ‘dominated’ by steel wire rope or steel plate pendants, they see a growing interest and potential in this industry. Their products are used on crawler cranes, luffing-jib cranes, tower cranes, mobile cranes and offshore cranes.
